My friend Tracy is amazing. No really, she is! You should see the things this girl does!
Last year, I wrote about the incredible Lego themed birthday party she threw for her son. It was fabulous! I wasn’t sure she could top it, but this year, the theme of his party was an Astronaut/Rocket/Space birthday party and she didn’t disappoint!
This is Andy, the birthday boy.
Handsome little guy, isn’t he?
When the kids got to the party, they were given this “rocket booster” backpack.
Love the tutu dress/rocket booster pack thing going on here…
Inside, they held their astronaut suits that Tracy made using a coverall, a sticker, some duct tape and electrical tape. How cute are they?!
Loved the space helmet!
The kids made some “space art” using foam cutouts, and helped to decorate the party space.
They also played in homemade moon sand – which I forgot to photograph… grrr…
They “flew” through space…
Tracy’s husband made this 12-foot-tall rocket ship.
And they went exploring on a lunar roving vehicle …
Tracy made the cake herself – this girl has some talent with fondant!!
She uses marshmallow to make the fondant, and it is DELICIOUS!! I just loved the little rocket she made too!
In the light outside, you could see where she made star impressions on the fondant.
When it was time to open presents, Andy’s aunt was inspired by a Pinterest idea and sent a box of balloons filled with money for Andy to pop – now that was cool!!
I love that every balloon had a different kind of currency – including this one with a 2 dollar bill!
And when all the presents were open, the cake was eaten and the parents exhausted, they kids each went home with a space inspired goody bag.
Even the little cousins got fun space stuff!
After seeing what she is capable of for the last seven years of birthday parties, I think I might be asking Tracy to plan my 40th birthday party later this year…. just have to decide on a theme 🙂
Thanks for stopping by!
