One of my best friends in the whole wide world, Tracy, came over to visit a few weeks ago. She brought her three little people, who are perhaps some of my favorite kids ever. They have such sweet personalities and are bundles of non-stop energy. They make me miss having small people running around our house.
Before they came up, Tracy and I decided that it would be a good idea to do a fun project with the kids when they were here. So, Tracy found this pin, which was the perfect blend of easy and fun.
Unfortunately, I don’t have a picture of our supplies, but this is what we used…
- Sugar Ice-Cream Cones
- frosting (we used mint flavor)
- M & M’s (holiday edition green and red)
- sprinkles
- mini-marshmallows
We gave each kid a plastic spoon to spread the frosting onto the cone, put out the toppings where they could get them, and let them create their own Christmas Tree Cone.
After they were done consuming their projects, they had a ton of sugar-induced energy to get out of their system, so we headed outside. It was the first time they came to visit us at our new house, and they had a great time exploring in our yard.
When I showed my husband these pictures of the kids on the swing he made for us, he was so happy to see it being put to good use! It’s nice to have little people around to enjoy the things our kids have gotten too big to really get excited about.
Then, our neighbor, who has a ten-horse stable, let out the two horses that hang out in our pasture each day. That just about made their day! The kids were excited to see them – and any excuse to climb a fence is pretty fun too.
Between the horses, the swing, the scooter riding, Christmas tree making and ball playing, I’m not sure who was more exhausted when it was time for them to go! I’m pretty sure it was me 🙂
Loved that day, and the opportunity to see my friend. Time seems to be passing by too quickly, and every minute I get to spend with someone I love is time well spent.
Well, I have to get back to getting ready for the holidays. I’m so far behind with everything, I can only hope that I can catch up before the 25th!
Happy Holidays!

Pictures came out really cute and I’m so glad we were able to visit! You were kind when you said their over abundance of energy was sugar induced, they were a bit wild that day 😉 Love you and hope we get together again soon xoxo

Most definitely it was the sugar 🙂 xoxo

So cute and much more kid-friendly than building a gingerbread house!

They were so easy – even for the two-year old. It was cute to watch them put one marshmallow on the “tree”, and two in their mouth! LOL! I will definitely do this project again!

This is SUCH a cute idea! I don’t normally have “littles” at my house anymore either but my 4-year old grand daughter is coming for Christmas. This looks like a really fun project/dessert for her to make while she is here. Thanks for sharing your “recipe” with us! Your young visitors are mighty cute too.

Thanks, Miss Kitty! I have family coming this weekend, so we might be doing this again. (I need to
establishmaintain my “favorite aunt” status somehow! LOL!
